EMMETT TECHNIQUE
ABOUT EMMETT TECHNIQUE
Emmett Technique was developed by Australian, Ross Emmett, more than 20 years ago and it is a unique form of body therapy that involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as "Emmett Points". The points are not the same as traditional trigger points, acupressure points or any points described in any other therapy or modality.
Emmett Therapy is practiced in more than 30 countries around the globe.

WHAT DOES A TREATMENT INVOLVE?
Treatments may be done whilst you are fully clothed, although some garments may need to be removed or loosened. Treatment times may vary according to the therapist and can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and, whilst individual experience may vary, relief is often instantaneous.
Clients can be treated seated, standing or lying down.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It is suggested that the Emmett Technique may interact with the body in a number of ways:
-
The stimulation of the 'move' is registered by the receiver's nervous system and their brain responds by sending new instructions back to affect the physical state of the localized area.
-
The result is often instantaneous physical change.
The pressure required to stimulate the Emmett points does not need to be firm or painful and the Emmett therapist is proficient in the art of applying:
-
the right amount of pressure
-
in the right direction
-
for the right amount of time
It is this combination of elements, unique to each individual, which creates the desired physical change.
Although often combined with other therapies, the Emmett Technique is an efficient and effective therapy on its own.
